The Chambave Muscat Passito " Prieuré" by La Crotta di Vegneron is an historical wine, a real precious nectar that has characterized the history and traditions of this area.
It comes from the best grapes of the Moscato Bianco that are harvested between late September and early October and are put to dry in special ventilated rooms; once completed drying, the grapes follow a traditional vinification with maceration for 36-48 hours in a steel and fermentation comes to last for 30 days; 12 months of aging in steel on the lees round out the evolution of this great Passito of Valle d'Aosta. The "Prieuré", as he tells the story, was offered in 1494 by Giorgio di Challant to Charles VIII, King of France.
Another gem of the winery La Crotta di Vegneron, a pearl that comes from the vineyards of Chambave, Saint Denis, Verrayes and Chatillon, from vineyards located between 450 and 680 meters above sea level, on steep slopes. Sweet, soft, charming, warm, full and round, the Chambave Muscat Passito "Prieuré" is the smoothness made wine: acacia, thyme, sage, violet, peach, sweet almond and honey. A great Passito...
