The Gin "Etna" Amacardo is a distillate with a unique personality. It is produced on the slopes of the volcano and condenses all its spirit and strong and generous character. It is a Mediterranean Gin, made with botanicals collected and selected at the foot of Etna, able to give a strong territorial imprint. In addition to the classic balsamic aroma of juniper, this Gin is enriched by notes of medicinal herbs and wild herbs of the Etna flora, including in particular the wild thistle, better known as artichoke of Etna, which gives the Gin an intense nuance with pleasant notes of artichoke.
Etna Gin is a label with a typical artisanal profile, produced by a small company from Catania, specialized in Sicilian spirits and liqueurs. Amacardo, faithful to the philosophy of making bottles that represent the territory in an authentic way, decided to create a Gin that stood out clearly and decisively from the standardized production of the big brands. For this reason, Amarcardo has married the idea of exclusively enhancing a typical product of the territory and making it become a true protagonist of its distillates and liqueurs. The focus was on wild thistle (Cynara Cardunculus Sylvestris), also known as cacucciuleddu spinusu catanisi, which was recovered and put at the center of the project, so much so as to give the company its name.
Amacardo Gin owes its particular aroma to the presence of Etna artichoke, which is part of the spontaneous flora of the volcano area. It is a plant that has set itself very well on the soils of volcanic sands, rich in precious mineral elements, which contribute to give a particularly tasty, slightly bitter and savory taste. In addition to the wild thistle, for the production of Gin are used aromatic herbs, citrus spices and juniper. In the glass is transparent and crystalline, with particularly delicate, fresh and subtle aromas, reminiscent of the fragrance of freshly picked Sicilian citrus, the freshness of wild fennel, the herbs of the Mediterranean, the slightly bitter notes of artichoke, spices and the balsamic background of juniper. The mouthfeel is clear and soft, fresh and intense, with a slightly spicy finish. An unmissable label for Italian Gin lovers.
