The Vermentino by Ottaviano Lambruschi is a fresh and immediate white, with a pleasantly marine profile, which well expresses the potential of the Colli di Luni area for the production of this variety. The small hilly area, located inland between La Spezia and Massa Carrara, right on the border between Liguria and Tuscany, is particularly suited for the cultivation of white grape varieties, thanks to the splendid geographical position between the Apennines and the sea. The Mediterranean climate, always breezy and tempered by the breezes of the nearby Tyrrhenian Sea, creates the perfect habitat for a vine that loves the proximity of the sea like Vermentino, which is also found in Sardinia and along the Tuscan coast.
The Lambruschi Vermentino is the most famous white of the winery, the one that has contributed to making it known as one of the most interesting producers in the Colli di Luni area and among the greatest interpreters of this white grape variety, which has been present for centuries along the Mediterranean coast. The vineyards are cultivated in the Castelnuovo Magra estate, in the province of La Spezia, at an altitude of about 200 meters above
sea level. After the harvest, which usually takes place at the end of September, the grapes are softly pressed. The free-run must is fermented in stainless steel tanks at a controlled temperature of 20/22 °C and the wine matures, still in steel, for about 6 months at a temperature of 18 °C before being bottled.Ottaviano Lambruschi Vermentino is a white with a traditional face, which perfectly expresses the best characteristics of the vine and the territory of Colli di Luni. A wine that captivates with its expressive clarity and marine elegance and iodized profile. In the glass, it has a straw yellow color. On the nose, it expresses aromas of aromatic herbs from the Mediterranean scrub, citrus aromas, and ripe yellow fruit. The sip is fresh and savory, pleasantly juicy, with a beautiful final freshness. A perfect white to pair with a seafood menu.
