Nossing's Veltliner is distinguished by its tenacious structure supported by vibrant freshness. The small but typically South Tyrolean winery, thanks to the immense work of Manfred, is distinguished by the temperament of its wines that reflect the values of the grape varieties, of which the interpretation given to the Veltliner is a worthy testimony. A wine that represents what has now become the philosophy and production tradition of one of the most relevant and spotlighted winemakers in the Eisack Valley.
Manni Nossing benefits from its Veltliner from the sandy, gravel-rich, shale-rich soils that make up the hillsides affected by big temperature changes, which are useful and essential for creating and developing aromas and flavours of complex texture. The grapes, once the harvest is finished, are transferred to the winery where, after fermentation, a slight passage in acacia barrels is made so as to avoid too incisive an influence of wood and to give free rein to the characters of the grape variety.
Golden yellow with greenish highlights, Nossing's Veltliner opens to the nose with a truly varied and finely interwoven mosaic of aromas. Fruity aromas reminiscent of medlar define the first aromatic section, paving the way for various more mineral scents and light spices, indeed, a hint of white pepper emerges. Taken to the palate, one is immediately enraptured by the crispness and rich body that shows no hint of timidity. It closes with fruity and floral notes, thus being consistent with the bouquet perceived on the nose. This Veltliner is the ideal companion to dishes with delicate aromatics that can enhance the original characteristics of a wine that has found a great interpreter to express itself at its best.
